Why the site exists
Astronomy involves scales that are difficult to picture. Planet diameters differ by orders of magnitude, interplanetary distances overwhelm everyday units, and a simple telescope calculation can become confusing when several optical values interact. Astronomy Times builds focused tools that make those relationships easier to inspect.
How we handle data
Important numerical datasets record their source and verification date. We prefer primary scientific institutions and standards bodies. When a value can change, such as the number of confirmed moons around a planet, we treat it as reviewable data rather than a permanent constant.
How we handle calculations
Every calculator states its formula or method where that improves understanding. Estimates are labelled as estimates, and visualisations identify whether they use true scale, relative scale or an illustrative scale.

Astronomy Times is not affiliated with NASA, ESA, the International Astronomical Union or another scientific institution. References to these organisations identify sources rather than endorsements.
